The Walthall Community Room located in the Walthall Condo building is the cafeteria of the historic Walthall School or Court Street School. The building was built in the early 1900’s. Designated a Mississippi Landmark in 1988, it was sold to the Hattiesburg Historic Neighborhood Association in 1995. All but the Walthall Community Room was later sold developers 2006 who converted the remainder of the building to condos.

Hattiesburg Neighborhood Association and the Walthall Foundation, Inc. remodeled the Walthall Community Room in 2025.

The room features:

• full natural light from 4 large windows

• full kitchen with service counter;

• folding chairs and tables (please let us know how many tables you need so we can ensure they are in the room for you)

• Park access is available if needed

The perfect space to host a bridal or baby shower, birthday parties, school events, homecoming/prom dinners, etc.
